This position is based at the Youth Center located on Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada. The Youth Center plays a vital role in providing recreational, educational, and social activities for military-connected youth, fostering a positive environment that supports development, engagement, and community building. Job Requirements
- physically able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds frequently
- able to occasionally lift objects over 40 pounds
- able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods
- experience in food preparation and cooking
- knowledge of food service procedures
- eligible to work at Nellis Air Force Base
- proof of eligibility provided by closing date
- open to all applicants including veterans and military spouses
- experience gained through paid or volunteer work
- no education substitution allowed
Job Qualifications

- ability to perform yield testing
- experience with ordering, issuing, and storing food

- familiarity with safety procedures in food service environments
Job Duties
- prepare and cook food items according to established standards
- perform yield testing and adjust standardized recipes
- order, issue, and store food supplies
- ensure meals are prepared and served on time
- maintain cleanliness and safety standards in food service areas
- handle physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending
- adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
