Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Proven cooking experience including experience as a line cook or prep cook
- Possession of Food Handlers Certification
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high-volume culinary operation
- Ability to multitask efficiently
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Availability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred
- Proven cooking experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
- Food Handlers Certification
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, broilers, fryers, steam tables, mixers, knives, and slicers
- Understanding of sanitation standards and inventory control
- Knowledge of basic food handling skills and various cooking methods
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships
- Commitment to cleanliness and safety
Job Duties
- Carefully and safely prepare food according to Chef or Sous Chef direction
- Ensure food is portioned correctly and presented appealingly
- Maintain food line stocked during initial set-up and service
- Prepare food for service including chopping, butchering, and sauce preparation
- Cook menu items cooperatively with kitchen staff
- Check and replenish pars for shift use
- Store food properly and maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation
- Control food waste and manage inventory
- Comply with nutrition and safety regulations
- Use kitchen equipment safely and follow safety policies
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks during shift
- Report accidents and maintain a safe work environment
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
