Job Duties
- Maintain and strictly abide by State sanitation/Health regulations and Hotel requirements
- Check the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
- Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions
- Complete opening duties which include setting up the workstation, inspecting the cleanliness and working condition of tools and equipment, checking production schedules and pars, establishing priority items, and transporting supplies from the storeroom
- Start prep work on items needed for the menu of the day
- Inform Food & Beverage service staff of out-of-stock items and the number of available menu specials throughout the meal period
- Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Hotel requirements
- Perform closing duties including returning food items to proper storage, wrapping and labeling items, organizing storage areas, cleaning prep areas, returning unused utensils and equipment, and turning off equipment not needed for next shift
