Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year cooking experience in a high volume or casual dining setting
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Capability to stand, bend and twist for long periods
  • Willingness to work in a hot and fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to following HACCP standards and company policies

Job Qualifications

  • Food preparation skills
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food pertaining to soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents
  • Ability to converse comfortably with customers
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work with sharp knives, utensils and hot plates
  • Experience working in hot environments

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items which may include soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food and beverage products
  • Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices and comply with HACCP standards
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperature of product
