Job Requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedules including day and night shifts
- Must pass a background check and health screening
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
- Commitment to resident-centered care
- Experience with safe food handling practices
- Willingness to undergo training and orientation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare or assisted living environment is a plus
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and special diets
- Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen sanitation
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals for residents keeping in mind dietary needs and special diets
- Strong working knowledge on proper food storage and preparation
- Knowledge of state dietary regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area
- Use cutting tools cookware and bakeware safely and efficiently
- Follow cooking procedures and methods including grilling baking and boiling
- Assist in inventory management and report supply needs
