Job Requirements

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year closely related cooking experience
  • Experience in high volume and casual dining environment preferred
  • Food knowledge related to soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry
  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand for normal job functions
  • Ability to work in environments involving frequent immersion of hands in water and chemicals
  • Ability to handle sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
  • Ability to work in hot kitchen environments

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year cooking experience in a high volume or casual dining restaurant
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques pertaining to soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry stations
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong communication skills to converse comfortably with customers and team members
  • Food preparation skills with knowledge of HACCP standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare cooked foods following recipes and product directions
  • Season, cook, taste, carve, and serve food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and beverages
  • Communicate ticket times and potential problems to management and servers as necessary
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and kitchen equipment
  • Operate kitchen equipment and prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables
  • Stock, date, rotate, and check temperatures of food products
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation according to HACCP standards
