Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Minimum of 1 year closely related cooking experience
- Experience in high volume and casual dining environment preferred
- Food knowledge related to soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to bend, twist, and stand for normal job functions
- Ability to work in environments involving frequent immersion of hands in water and chemicals
- Ability to handle sharp knives, utensils, and hot plates
- Ability to work in hot kitchen environments
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year cooking experience in a high volume or casual dining restaurant
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques pertaining to soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry stations
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong communication skills to converse comfortably with customers and team members
- Food preparation skills with knowledge of HACCP standards
Job Duties
- Prepare cooked foods following recipes and product directions
- Season, cook, taste, carve, and serve food items including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and beverages
- Communicate ticket times and potential problems to management and servers as necessary
- Clean and sanitize work stations and kitchen equipment
- Operate kitchen equipment and prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables
- Stock, date, rotate, and check temperatures of food products
- Practice excellent food safety and sanitation according to HACCP standards
