Job Requirements
- Food preparation skills and HACCP knowledge required
- At least 1 year of related cooking experience preferred
- Ability to perform all station functions including fry, griddle, pantry, and eggs
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
- Capability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work with hot equipment and sharp knives
- Willingness to immerse hands in water and chemicals frequently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
- Experience in a high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Familiarity with soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry food preparation
- Ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and policy documents
- Strong communication skills for customer interaction
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Willingness to work in hot environments and handle sharp utensils safely
Job Duties
- Follows recipes and product directions for preparing seasoned, cooked, and served food including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts
- Tastes products, follows menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to plan production and requisition supplies
- Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment
- Practices excellent food safety and sanitation complying with HACCP standards
- Operates kitchen equipment, measures and mixes ingredients, prepares fruits and vegetables
- Stocks, dates, rotates, and checks temperature of products
- Communicates with management and servers regarding ticket times and kitchen issues
