Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook in a fast-food or restaurant setting, preferably with Mexican cuisine
- Knowledge of traditional Mexican cooking methods and recipes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- culinary training is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and restaurant specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including cooking stations and utensils
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items
- Assist in the prep work, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces and salsas
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies as needed
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quick service
- Ensure the correct portioning of food to maintain consistency in taste and presentation
- Handle special dietary requests or modifications to dishes as per customer needs
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, countertops, and workstations after each shift
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while operating kitchen appliances
- Keep up to date with food trends and incorporate new ideas to improve menu offerings
