Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years related work experience
- Prior experience in food service positions
- Valid ServSafe® or other approved Food Handler Certification
- Ability to perform multiple tasks
- Frequent standing, reaching, stooping, bending
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment including oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives
- Compliance with uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene
- Ability to follow safe work practices
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-3 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Prior experience in food service positions
- Valid ServSafe® or other approved Food Handler Certification
- High level of integrity and honesty
- Strong working knowledge of restaurant operations
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- Familiarity with safe work habits and procedures
- Understanding of company rules and procedures
- Moderate reading and writing skills
- Proficient interpersonal and communicative skills
- Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs

- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
Job Duties
- Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems
- Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production guidelines
- Ensures availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
- Sets steam table
- Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining
- Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health
- Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques
- Stores food properly and safely, marking date
- Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food is maintained
- Apportions food and maintains daily production records
- Keeps work area neat and clean at all times including dishwashing
- Cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation
- Completes food temperature checks
- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene
- Supports the mission, values and vision of California Fish Grill
- Cooperates and implements safety procedures and programs including fire/safety/disaster plans
- Maintains confidentiality of data including food safety information
- Complies with quality assurance and regulatory standards
- Follows company policies to ensure a work environment free from sexual harassment and discrimination
- Works cooperatively with coworkers with minimal supervisory direction
- Uses tactful and appropriate communication in sensitive situations
- Follows up with supervisor, coworkers or customers regarding complaints or problems
- Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and customers
- Performs other duties as assigned
