Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking experience preferably in hospital or restaurant environment
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control
- Physical ability to perform duties including walking standing sitting lifting carrying pushing and pulling weights up to 50 lb
- Ability to hear normal conversation and have general peripheral vision
- Willingness to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Availability to work scheduled service periods
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepares all foods ensuring readiness for scheduled service periods in the proper amounts needed ensuring quality quantity and presentation
- Ensures all foods are served at proper temperature and merchandised to enhance product quality
- Follows recipes to prepare foods in proper amounts and portion sizes for service
- Reviews menu items with staff regarding content and method of service
- Alerts staff to any menu changes in time for necessary action
- Reviews menus to ensure proper preparation and forecasting for service periods
- Discusses next day’s service with staff and alerts to changes or special requirements
- Assists with general sanitation including cleaning equipment wiping walls dish room duties and trash removal
- Maintains cleanliness of work area at all times
