Job Requirements
- Complete a background investigation with favorable results
- be able to work shift work including evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations
- pass a pre-employment physical for lifting up to 40 pounds
- complete assigned training including Food Handlers certification
- meet residency and Selective Service registration requirements
- provide required identification for installation access
- satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify)
- ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods
- be a U.S. citizen or non-U.S. national meeting residency criteria
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and presentation in establishments such as grills, snack bars, restaurants, or clubs
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- knowledge of food service equipment operation and cleaning
- basic arithmetic skills
- understanding of food characteristics and seasoning
- food handler certification
Job Duties
- Perform simple cooking tasks such as preparing pancakes, sausages, eggs, hamburgers, fresh or canned vegetables
- prepare hot cereals and broiled meats
- prepare concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies
- make cold sandwich fillings
- prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading
- weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients for menu items
- set up and replenish salad bar
- portion foods for meal service
- cover, date, and store leftovers according to procedures
- wash and clean kitchen equipment
