Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking experience required
  • Willingness to work full-time with variable hours
  • Open availability and flexibility in scheduling
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Physical capability to lift and move kitchen supplies safely
  • Compliance with safety protocols and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning and temperature standards
  • Use established ticket collection procedures during service
  • Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Store or discard excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assist in ordering and receiving food and supplies
  • Report maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers
  • Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Follow HACCP standards for food safety
  • Commit personally to safety and company policies including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques
  • Perform other duties as assigned
