This position is a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) role assigned to the Club at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. Job Requirements
- Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- continuous standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending required
- experience in food preparation and presentation
- ability to follow instructions
- ability to operate and clean food service equipment
- knowledge of food characteristics
- must provide proof of eligibility by closing date
- open to all applicants including specific hiring preferences
- no education substitution allowed
- foreign education must be equivalent
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and presentation gained in grills, snack bars, restaurants, clubs or similar food service
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- knowledge of food service equipment operation and cleaning
- understanding of food characteristics and seasoning techniques
- ability to work safely and perform simple arithmetic
- physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods
Job Duties
- Prepare and present food items following established methods and procedures
- operate and clean food service equipment
- follow oral and written instructions precisely
- work safely in a high-paced food preparation environment
- perform simple arithmetic as part of food preparation
- season food appropriately and determine when food is fully cooked
- lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds frequently with some occasional heavier lifting with assistance
