Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Willingness to work alternating weekends
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitary guidelines
  • Servsafe certification preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Flexibility to work full-time day shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Servsafe certification upon hire preferred
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and cooking schedules
  • Knowledge of dietary regulations and food safety standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares food in compliance with guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Cooks, prepares, and seasons soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items per standardized recipes
  • Reviews menu and special orders to determine type and quantity of food items to be prepared
  • Follows cooking schedule and ensures food is ready at specified times
  • Confers with supervisor personnel regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
  • Prepares, handles, and stores food in accordance with all governmental, sanitary, and dietary regulations as well as established policies and procedures
