Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting
- ability to follow standardized recipes
- capability to prepare meals according to menu cycles developed by dietitians
- willingness to work 8-hour shifts including PM and weekends
- strong teamwork and communication skills
- compassion for serving individuals with health and physical limitations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- one year of experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred
Job Duties
- Follows standardized recipes
- prepares foods that correspond to the menu cycles developed by registered dietitians
- cooks or prepares appetizing, well-presented and nutritionally-adequate meals in quantities that are served at the proper temperatures and within the appropriate time frames
- uses food supplies and equipment in an efficient and economic manner to prevent waste
- prepares and maintains food alternatives to accommodate guest choices and refusals of meals served
- supervises culinary staff with regard to food storage, food preparation, tray assembly and cleaning
- in the absence of the chef and/or dietary manager, supervises the culinary center's employees
