Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
one year of experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting
ability to follow standardized recipes
capability to prepare meals according to menu cycles developed by dietitians
willingness to work 8-hour shifts including PM and weekends
strong teamwork and communication skills
compassion for serving individuals with health and physical limitations

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
one year of experience as a cook in an institutional food service setting preferred

Job Duties

Follows standardized recipes
prepares foods that correspond to the menu cycles developed by registered dietitians
cooks or prepares appetizing, well-presented and nutritionally-adequate meals in quantities that are served at the proper temperatures and within the appropriate time frames
uses food supplies and equipment in an efficient and economic manner to prevent waste
prepares and maintains food alternatives to accommodate guest choices and refusals of meals served
supervises culinary staff with regard to food storage, food preparation, tray assembly and cleaning
in the absence of the chef and/or dietary manager, supervises the culinary center's employees
