Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years experience in food service
  • certified Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food Safety Professionals
  • thorough knowledge of HACCP food safety practices
  • ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and rotating holidays
  • able to adhere to hospital safety and hygiene standards
  • no driving required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years experience in food service
  • certification as Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food Safety Professionals
  • complete understanding of HACCP food safety
  • knowledge of cooking techniques and operations
  • ability to follow recipes and adjust cooking processes
  • strong attention to detail in food preparation

Job Duties

  • Consistently applies corporate values of respect, honesty and fairness
  • reviews menus and work orders to determine types and quantities of food to prepare
  • plans cooking schedule to ensure meals are ready and maintain nutritional quality and appearance
  • estimates food quantities and controls serving portions to minimize waste
  • procures food from storage and supervises procurement
  • trims and cuts meat and fowl
  • prepares or supervises washing, trimming, cooking and seasoning of food items
  • measures and mixes ingredients following recipes
  • tests food quality by tasting and smelling
  • adjusts heat controls on cooking equipment
  • prepares cold meats, sandwiches, snacks and beverages
  • inspects meat and food storage
  • recommends menu changes as needed
