Job Requirements

  • Certification in food safety and sanitation
  • minimum of two years experience in food services in a healthcare facility
  • ability to read, write and communicate the English language
  • ability to make independent decisions when required
  • ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and general public
  • leadership ability
  • willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and nonprofessional personnel
  • physical ability to perform job tasks including standing, walking, bending, reaching and carrying
  • ability to operate computer equipment and perform fine motor tasks
  • availability to work beyond normal hours and temporarily in other positions when necessary

Job Duties

  • Prepare and distribute all food production in the Dietary department
  • supervise all Dietary department personnel in the absence of the Food Service Director
  • ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • make independent decisions as necessary to maintain operational efficiency
  • communicate effectively with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and staff
  • seek out and incorporate new food service methods and principles
  • maintain a safe and hygienic work environment
