Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in food service
  • Certification as Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food and Safety Professionals
  • Complete understanding of HACCP food safety
  • Ability to follow detailed cooking procedures
  • Capability to work morning, evening, rotating weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Commitment to corporate values and success factors
  • Physical ability to handle food preparation and kitchen tasks
  • No driving required

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and complete familiarity with cooking operations

Job Duties

  • Apply corporate values of respect, honesty, and fairness while pursuing excellence
  • Review menus and work orders to determine food preparation needs
  • Plan cooking schedules to ensure timely meal readiness and maintain nutritional quality
  • Estimate food quantities and control serving portions to reduce waste
  • Coordinate with Food Service Supervisor on modified diets and leftover usage
  • Procure food from storage areas and ensure proper handling
  • Trim and cut meat and fowl
  • Prepare, wash, trim, cook, and season food items
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Taste and adjust food seasoning to improve flavor and appearance
  • Test food for proper cooking through sensory methods
  • Adjust heating controls on kitchen equipment
  • Prepare cold meats, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages
  • Inspect food storage and recommend menu changes when necessary
