Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two to three years experience in food service
  • Certification as Food Safety Manager
  • Understanding of HACCP food safety protocol
  • Ability to follow dietary requirements and recipes accurately
  • Availability to work evening shifts and weekends
  • No driving required
  • No supervisory experience necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Food Safety Manager by National Registry of Food and Safety Professionals
  • Complete understanding of HACCP food safety
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and culinary operations
  • Two to three years experience in food service
  • Ability to work evening shifts and every other weekend
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a healthcare environment

Job Duties

  • Apply corporate values of respect, honesty, and fairness consistently
  • Review menus and work orders to determine food types and quantities
  • Plan cooking schedules to ensure timely preparation and quality maintenance
  • Estimate food quantities and control serving portions to minimize waste
  • Confer with Food Service Supervisor on modified diets and leftovers
  • Procure food items from refrigerator, freezer, and storage areas
  • Trim and cut meat and fowl
  • Prepare, wash, trim, cook, and season food items
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Observe and taste food for flavor, texture, and appearance
  • Adjust heat controls and timers on cooking equipment
  • Prepare cold meats, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages
  • Inspect stored food and recommend menu changes as needed
