Job Requirements
- Ability to follow recipe and instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods including grilling, baking, boiling
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work as a team
- Effective communication skills
- Must have Food Handler Certification
- Must be able to pass a Washington State Patrol background check
- Must successfully pass drug and TB testing
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a hot, sometimes noisy kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AA Culinary degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial or catering kitchen preferred
- Experience using various ingredients and cooking techniques
- Skilled in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Job Duties
- Preparing food in accordance with recipes
- Providing support for special meals as directed by Lead Cook, Kitchen Supervisor, or Kitchen Manager
- Preparing ingredients including chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat
- Cooking food using various kitchen equipment such as pots, pans, utensils, or grills
- Checking food during cooking for stirring, turning, and temperature control
- Supporting a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment
- Ensuring proper storage of food and other kitchen items as directed
