Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of relevant cooking experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Prior experience cooking or kitchen experience in a cafeteria or large volume production facility a plus
  • Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment

Job Duties

  • Refers to daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties and completes opening and closing checklists daily
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Safely uses a variety of kitchen utensils including knives and other items
  • Operates a variety of equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
  • Handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly in accordance with state laws
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth serving of food
  • Understands menu items and is responsible for prepping ingredients
  • Multitasks in a high-volume kitchen
  • Handles hot and cold work conditions during food preparation
  • Performs physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
