Job Requirements

  • One year of previous cook experience
  • Ability to work full-time schedules with variable days and hours
  • Reliable transportation or means to commute to ST Elias location in Anchorage, AK
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment
  • Compliance with company drug-free workplace policy
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning and ensuring food is at proper temperature
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records
  • Cleans kitchen and maintains cleanliness standards
  • Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance needs or faulty equipment immediately
  • Attends safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers and management
  • Performs duties in a safe manner, maintaining a clean work environment
  • Ensures proper food presentation and follows HACCP standards
  • Commits to personal and workplace safety
  • Abides by company policies regarding safety gear and procedures
