Job Requirements

  • Complete a background investigation with favorable results
  • Obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler's training
  • Complete a favorable pre-employment physical
  • Ability to work shifts covering evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations
  • Reside in the United States for at least 3 years and live in the commuting area of the vacancy
  • Be able to provide REAL ID or approved identity documents for access
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
  • Must satisfactorily complete employment verification (E-Verify)
  • Direct deposit is required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation and presentation gained in grills, snack bars, restaurants, clubs or similar food activities
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment
  • Knowledge of characteristics of various foods
  • Ability to season food and decide when foods are cooked
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and perform simple arithmetic

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of simple cooking tasks preparing and cooking items like pancakes, sausage, eggs and hamburgers
  • Prepare hot cereals, broiled meats, concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies
  • Make cold sandwich fillings and prepare convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets, and chicken nuggets
  • Prepare foods by peeling, chopping, slicing, dicing, pureeing, and breading
  • Weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients for menu items and set up and replenish salad bar
  • Portion foods for distribution and meal service, cover, date, and store leftovers according to procedures
  • Wash and clean kitchen equipment to maintain hygiene
