Job Requirements
- One year of previous cook experience required
- Ability to work full-time with day and variable hours
- Ability to adhere to federal, state and corporate food safety regulations
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
- Compliance with company policies including use of protective gloves and safety footwear
- Ability to perform physical tasks required in kitchen environments
- Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work area
- Must be able to follow instructions and work within a team environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of previous cook experience required
- Knowledge of food safety standards including HACCP
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment operation
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
- Commitment to safety and cleanliness protocols
- Ability to maintain proper food handling and storage practices
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring food is at correct temperature and attractive
- Tastes all prepared food items
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting
- Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies
- Reports maintenance needs or equipment issues to supervisor
- Attends in-service and safety meetings
- Maintains good working relationships with coworkers and management
- Performs job safely maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Ensures proper food presentation, portion control and serving temperatures following HACCP standards
- Adheres to company safety policies including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Performs other duties as assigned
