Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Experience working with food and in a kitchen environment preferred
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, and squat for long periods
- Ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds unassisted frequently and up to 25 pounds with assistance occasionally
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Maintain competencies required by state and federal regulations
- Ability to interact positively with residents and staff

Job Duties
- Review menus prior to preparing food
- Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and therapeutic diet requirements
- Prepare alternative food selections as needed
- Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations
- Work with the dietitian and implement recommended changes
- Develop and maintain good working rapport with CNAs and other team members
- Attend in-service programs as directed
- Assist in maintaining the food storage area clean and properly arranged
- Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available
- Perform other duties as assigned
