Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • progressive experience in hotel or culinary environment
  • valid Food Handlers Certification
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • willingness to show initiative and maintain composure under pressure
  • availability to work varied shifts as per hotel scheduling
  • physical capability to lift 20-50 lbs
  • ability to comply with company policies and safety regulations
  • successful completion of criminal background check

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards as per scheduling
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform and nametag
  • comply at all times with company standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • comply with certification requirements including Food Handlers and Safety
  • maintain friendly and warm demeanor at all times
  • ensure necessary food and station preparations prior to restaurant or dining outlet openings
  • assist and supervise kitchen line during operating hours ensuring efficiency and quality
  • supervise and assist with banquet food preparation following event specifications
  • supervise food preparation for employee cafeteria as needed
  • ensure all food follows company standard recipes
  • maintain 'Clean as You Go' sanitation policy and cleaning schedules
  • keep storage areas neat, orderly and clean
  • supervise and assist with breakdown of buffets and kitchen lines ensuring proper storage
  • enforce safe work habits
  • enforce hotel policies and house rules
  • be familiar with emergency procedures
  • ensure employees remain attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous
  • aid in food security including locking storage areas
  • keep employee break room neat and orderly
  • maintain high food quality standards and strive for improvements
  • assist in training staff on kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • attend management meetings as required
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
