Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience preferably in assisted living or healthcare settings
- basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours
- ability to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
- good communication skills

- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- availability to work flexible schedules
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- culinary certification or relevant vocational training is a plus
- previous experience as a cook preferably in healthcare or assisted living settings
- strong culinary skills focused on food preparation and presentation
- knowledge of food safety practices and dietary requirements for elderly residents
- compassionate and patient demeanor with excellent communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items in a kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
- ensure meals are presented attractively and meet quality standards
- assist in planning weekly menus catering to residents' dietary needs and preferences
- follow all food safety and sanitation procedures including proper food handling and storage
- maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner and address dietary concerns
- monitor food inventory levels and manage ordering of supplies
- maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues
- collaborate with kitchen and dietary staff to ensure smooth meal service operations
- complete and maintain required documentation for health and safety compliance
