Job Requirements
- Must have five years experience in an institutional food service environment or comparable experience
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical recipe conversions
- Must report to work in proper uniform
- Must follow all accepted HAACP procedures
- Must maintain a clean, sanitary work station
- Must be available to work an 8-hour day shift from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm including every other weekend and holiday
- Must be able to work in other areas of the department as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Five years experience in an institutional food service environment or comparable experience
- Basic knowledge of simple mathematical recipe conversions
- Ability to supervise dietary aides or volunteers on assigned projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items including soups, hot entrees, baked items, cold foods, and garde manger work
- Follow standardized recipes and production schedules
- Maintain a clean, sanitary work station following HAACP procedures
- Produce and deliver all foods to service areas in a timely manner
- Check all foods daily to assure wholesomeness
- Assist in maintaining inventory control by notifying chef of low or missing stocked items
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of all refrigerators and freezers
- Maintain a pleasant manner with all customers, internal and external
