Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least two years of culinary experience
  • ability to pass written culinary exam
  • Serv Safe Certification within 60 days of hire
  • comply with vaccination requirements or approved exemption
  • availability to work assigned shifts including every other weekend and holiday rotation
  • ability to maintain sanitation standards
  • maintain clean and organized equipment and workspaces
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of four years of high school or equivalent
  • judgment and planning skills for food preparation
  • minimum two years culinary experience required
  • institutional culinary experience preferred
  • ability to pass Southcoast’s written culinary exam
  • Serv Safe Certification within 60 days of hire
  • fully vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption

Job Duties

  • Prepare short-order foods
  • prepare made-to-order foods and Garde Manger items
  • perform scratch cooking such as soups, stews, chowders, and chili
  • monitor food quality, temperature, and flavor
  • identify and correct food issues through tasting, portioning, and visual inspection
  • maintain accurate production and temperature records
  • keep refrigerators and freezers clean and organized
  • follow sanitation guidelines
  • report problems to Chef or Manager
  • perform other reasonable duties as assigned
