Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in cooking or food preparation preferred
- Ability to work full time
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds or less
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Must be able to work in a kitchen environment with heat, steam, and noise exposure
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking experience preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, and mixers
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds
- Manual dexterity
- Auditory and visual skills
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
- Maintain food freshness by rotating stock and following labeling procedures
- Monitor, cook, and prepare foods to ensure proper cooking using tasting, smelling, or thermometers
- Prepare food stations as directed according to company guidelines
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes and supervisor guidance
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption
- Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
- Assist with baking breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment as needed
- Compile and maintain records of food usage
- Assist with inventory management
- Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
- Prepare and serve food to customers timely
- Support culinary staff as directed
- Communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs to supervisor
- Adhere to safety, food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity standards
- Provide excellent customer service including greeting and thanking customers
- Perform other assigned duties
