Job Requirements

  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical recipe conversions
  • must have five years experience in an institutional food service environment or comparable related food service experience
  • must maintain proper uniform and adhere to HACCP guidelines
  • ability to work scheduled 8-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
  • must be able to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
  • no driving required

  • Must have five years experience in an institutional food service environment or comparable experience in related food service
  • basic knowledge of simple mathematical recipe conversions
  • ability to supervise dietary aides or volunteers on projects
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and production schedules
  • knowledge of HACCP food safety procedures
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitary work areas

Job Duties

  • Prepare all food items including soups, hot entrees, baked items, cold foods, garde manger work and support tasks
  • prepare foods according to standardized recipes and production schedules
  • report to work in proper uniform
  • follow all HACCP procedures and maintain a clean, sanitary work station
  • assist in other department areas as assigned
  • produce and deliver foods to service areas timely
  • check all foods daily for wholesomeness
  • assist in inventory control by notifying chef of low or missing stocked items
  • maintain cleanliness of refrigerators and freezers
  • maintain a pleasant manner with all customers, internal and external
