Job Requirements

  • One year of previous kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • ability to perform essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • willingness to work part-time schedules including varied days, hours and some evenings
  • ability to comply with food safety regulations and company policies
  • must maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • ability to work well with others and maintain good relationships with coworkers, supervisors and customers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • knowledge of food preparation methods and safety standards
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and adjust preparation processes
  • teamwork and communication skills
  • ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • willingness to attend in-service and safety meetings
  • personal commitment to workplace safety and following policies

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records
  • cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
  • keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat
  • operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
  • assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required
  • reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • attends in-service and safety meetings
  • maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • demonstrates personal commitment to safety and abides by all company policies and procedures including use of protective gloves and proper lifting techniques
