Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week
  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach, push, and pull
  • Manual dexterity and good auditory and visual skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Strong commitment to safety and sanitation practices

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and knives
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Basic math skills for measuring and weighing ingredients
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and other equipment
  • Check freshness of food and ingredients by monitoring quality, rotating stock, and following labeling and dating procedures
  • Monitor, cook, and prepare foods to determine proper doneness using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers
  • Prepare stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes with guidance
  • Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption
  • Carve, trim, and prepare meats and seafood for service
  • Bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries as needed
  • Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment
  • Maintain records of food usage
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • Prepare and serve food to customers in a timely manner
  • Support culinary staff at various stations as directed
  • Communicate equipment and supply needs to supervisor
  • Adhere to company safety, sanitation, uniform, and productivity standards
  • Provide excellent customer service including being attentive, approachable, and courteous
