Job Requirements
- Experience or education related to food preparation
- working knowledge of cooking methods and procedures
- ability to read food labels and recipes
- basic arithmetic skills
- knowledge of food characteristics and cooking times
- skill in planning cooking sequences
- understanding of sanitation principles
- males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
- suitability for federal employment
- ability to complete probationary period
- participation in direct deposit pay program
- possession of a Social Security Card
- successful completion of E-VERIFY
- ability to pass a background check

Job Duties
- Prepare food in small quantities applying knowledge of food preparation techniques
- read and understand food service materials like labels and recipes
- perform basic arithmetic computations to adjust recipes and calculate servings
- monitor food characteristics including color, flavor, texture, and temperature
- plan and coordinate cooking steps to ensure timely serving
- maintain sanitation standards during food preparation
- assist in inventory management and kitchen cleanliness
