Job Requirements
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic

- One year of experience as a prep cook or similar position
- Food Handler certification obtained within 60 days of hire as required by state guidelines if state certification program exists
- Ability to follow written recipes and instructions
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Able to work in hot or cold kitchen environments
- Capability to work under pressure and adapt to changing duties and priorities
Job Qualifications

- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and communicate with residents, vendors, and team members
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items per menu requirements following designated recipes
- Prepare plates and garnish food items to be served to residents and guests
- Prepare food production to coordinate with meal service hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
- Ensure food safety meets State and local standards by monitoring food temperatures and using proper food storage techniques
- Maintain work area in a safe and sanitary condition including cleaning cooking equipment and other assigned kitchen areas
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations
- Maintain cooperative and consistent communication with kitchen staff, front-end staff, and management
- Understand instructions, read written company memorandums, and communicate with little or no additional direction
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings
