Job Requirements

  • Must possess at minimum a high School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must have at least 1 year of dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility
  • Food handler's permit required
  • Must be able to speak, understand, and write fluently in English
  • Reliable transportation required

  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Must be able to speak, understand, and write fluently in English
  • Reliable transportation required

Job Duties

  • Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu while utilizing standardized recipes
  • Ensure that food prepared is of proper quantity and in accordance with established time schedules
  • Utilize correct portion control utensils during the preparation and duration of food service to ensure proper quantity of food is prepared
  • Check and maintain proper food temperatures during preparation and service and record those temperatures according to policy
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of food and supplies are available at all times and report inadequate stock levels to the supervisor in a timely manner
