Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Training in food preparation and 1-year experience
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's certificate with 30 days of employment
- Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record

- Previous experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen
- Culinary Arts certification from an accredited institution
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook the quantity of food required according to the menu and the number of students/staff
- Assist in instructing cook helpers and student food services trainees in the safe, hygienic method of preparing and serving appetizing, appealing meals
- Ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times
- Prepare foods as directed for special Center functions and visitors
- Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas and the cafeteria following each meal
- Ensure minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization
- Help cook and serve meals, ensuring that prepared foods are held and served at proper temperatures, and all leftover foods are properly chilled and stored
