Job Requirements
- One year job related experience including food preparation in a restaurant, hotel, or similar environment
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain CPR certificate and First Aid certificate
- Hold ServSafe Manager certificate
- Possess local Health Department Food Handler card
- Comply with occupational health and safety requirements including proper use of PPE and following safety procedures
- Ability to perform assigned cleaning duties and kitchen maintenance
- Willingness to assist in dining services as needed
- Ability to attend required training and meetings
- Pass drug test and participate in health screenings as required by Sunrise Senior Living
- Covid-19 and influenza vaccinations as mandated by applicable laws
Job Qualifications
- One year job related experience including food preparation in a restaurant, hotel, or similar environment

- Prior culinary apprenticeship or training is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
Job Duties
- Ensure high standards for food taste and quality are upheld at all times
- Prepare and serve meals in a timely manner and in accordance with established standardized recipes and menus
- Utilize production sheets to accurately record food production quantities and cooking, holding, and cooling temperatures
- Prepare required dietary modifications as ordered
- Use Sunrise systems per guidelines for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy
- Stock, rotate, date, and store product according to food safety standards and regulations
- Maintain clean and organized kitchen, storage, and work areas
- Complete assigned cleaning duties and ensure accuracy of daily and weekly cleaning logs
- Maintain accurate equipment logs and report any issues promptly
- Maintain all cooking equipment in safe and working order and report any issues promptly
- Comply with occupational health and safety requirements and Risk Management programs and policies, including use of PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures
- Perform dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
- Operate dish machines according to manufacturer instructions
- Perform light janitorial duties including sweeping, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash
- Clean assigned kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods, and ventilation screens
- Assist with service in dining areas as needed
- Participate and commit to working toward team goals
- Demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
- Commit to serving residents and guests through Principles of Service
- Contribute to engagement programs for residents and team members
- Attend regular meetings such as Town Hall, Department Team, and Cross Over
- Maintain compliance in assigned training and training required by regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
