Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of recent relevant experience in food service
  • Knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Ability to instruct and supervise other employees
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • Capability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve issues
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and staff

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food according to established standards
  • Ensure quality and presentation of meals for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Instruct and supervise activities of other food service employees
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen work areas, dishes, and utensils
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and hospital personnel
  • Support catering functions and hospital food service operations
