Job Requirements

Previous culinary experience
Ability to work with little or no supervision
Physical ability to bend and reach
Physical ability to push, pull, and lift 40-50 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods
Capacity to work in hot and humid environments
Ability to recognize quality and palatability of food through taste and smell

Job Qualifications

Serv Safe Certification
Working knowledge of health and safety rules in food preparation
Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures per state guidelines
Knowledge of various meat cuts and seasonings
Ability in a wide range of food preparation skills
Experience dealing with seniors and their dietary needs
Ability to read, write, and speak English

Job Duties

Prepares food items on Food and Beverage Director's daily menu for Residents within scheduled time frame
Keeps food service areas clean
Monitors inventory
Supervises servers in the absence of the Food and Beverage Director
Maintains clean, neat, and safe work environment
Demonstrates knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to ovens, slicers, mixers, steam tables, steamers, toasters, coffee pots, refrigerators, and freezers
Assures that Resident diets are being followed
