Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior culinary experience in healthcare, hospitality, or similar settings preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • passion for culinary arts and serving others
  • ability to engage with seniors and vulnerable populations
  • physical ability to perform kitchen tasks
  • commitment to safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • combination of education and experience in the culinary arts
  • current negative TB test
  • knowledgeable in or able to quickly learn various kitchen regulatory standards
  • willingness to learn about healthcare and assisted living environments
  • ability to pass criminal record and background check
  • good time management skills
  • able to work independently with little oversight

Job Duties

  • Work with culinarians to implement the food and beverage program
  • create culinary experiences that engage all five senses
  • maintain food safety, infection control, and cleanliness standards
  • demonstrate innovation, creativity, and thoughtfulness in cooking
  • promote a safe work environment in the kitchen
  • adapt quickly to residents' needs and preferences
  • engage confidently with seniors of varied physical and cognitive abilities
