Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior culinary experience in healthcare, hospitality, or similar settings preferred
- strong communication skills
- passion for culinary arts and serving others
- ability to engage with seniors and vulnerable populations
- physical ability to perform kitchen tasks
- commitment to safety and hygiene standards
Job Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- combination of education and experience in the culinary arts
- current negative TB test
- knowledgeable in or able to quickly learn various kitchen regulatory standards
- willingness to learn about healthcare and assisted living environments
- ability to pass criminal record and background check
- good time management skills
- able to work independently with little oversight
Job Duties
- Work with culinarians to implement the food and beverage program
- create culinary experiences that engage all five senses
- maintain food safety, infection control, and cleanliness standards
- demonstrate innovation, creativity, and thoughtfulness in cooking
- promote a safe work environment in the kitchen
- adapt quickly to residents' needs and preferences
- engage confidently with seniors of varied physical and cognitive abilities
