Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating kitchen equipment
  • Check freshness of food and rotate stock according to labeling and dating procedures
  • Monitor and determine food doneness using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers
  • Prepare food stations according to company guidelines
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • Season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients following recipes under supervision
