- Previous cooking experience preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and slicers

Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and other equipment
- Check the freshness of food and ingredients by monitoring quality, rotating stock and following food labeling and dating procedures
- Monitor, cook and prepare foods using tasting, smelling or food thermometers to verify sufficient cooking
- Prepare stations according to company guidelines
- Bake, roast, broil and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods
- Season, weigh, measure and mix ingredients following recipes with supervisor guidance
- Wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption
- Carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood for hot or cold service
- May bake breads, rolls, cakes and pastries
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils and other cooking equipment
- Compile and maintain records of food usage
- Assist with inventory
- Follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
- Prepare and serve food promptly to customers
- Support culinary staff at various stations as directed
- Communicate with supervisor about kitchen equipment and supply needs
- Adhere to and promote safety, proper food handling, sanitation, uniform guidelines and productivity standards
- Provide attentive and approachable customer service including greeting and thanking customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
