  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting
  • Prior cooking experience in a skilled nursing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation practices
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepare pre-planned cycle menus in an efficient and effective manner
  • Perform food preparation tasks as assigned
  • Ability to read production orders on tray cards
  • Determine if the food prepared is of the highest possible quality in taste and flavor
  • Assist in planning cooking schedules
  • Confirm foods are ready on time for tray service
  • Maintain and improve standards of food storage, preparation, and services
  • Assist in checking food supplies on food order forms
  • Pushes carts to halls or kitchen
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness
