Job Requirements

  • Passion for food and service to others
  • Culinary skills demonstrating innovation and creativity
  • Confidence to engage with seniors individually and in groups
  • Awareness of food safety, infection control, and cleanliness standards
  • Skilled in varied cooking techniques with desire to teach others
  • Team player with strong communication and customer service focus
  • Adaptability to residents’ needs including understanding dementia
  • Experience in culinary roles involving service to seniors or vulnerable populations

Job Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Combination of education and experience in culinary arts
  • Current negative TB test
  • Knowledgeable or willing to learn regulatory kitchen standards
  • Willingness to work in a healthcare/assisted living environment
  • Ability to pass criminal record/background check
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight

Job Duties

  • Implement the food and beverage program for residents
  • Prepare meals that engage all five senses to nourish both body and soul
  • Collaborate closely with the chef and culinary team
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and infection control
  • Adapt quickly to the preferences and special needs of residents
  • Train and assist others in varied cooking techniques
  • Promote a safe work environment in the kitchen
