Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous culinary experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Positive and self-motivated attitude
- Ability to engage with seniors of varying cognitive and physical abilities
- Understanding or willingness to learn about dementia care
- Commitment to safety and cleanliness standards
- Flexibility to work full-time hours
Job Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Combination of education and experience in culinary arts
- Current negative TB test
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn food safety and regulatory standards
- Willingness to work in assisted living and healthcare settings
- Ability to pass criminal background check
- Good time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with culinary team to create innovative and appealing dishes
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Engage positively with residents to accommodate their meal preferences
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
