Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
must be at least 18 years of age
prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
physical capability to perform lifting, bending, and other repetitive tasks
dependable and flexible
ability to work independently and as part of a team

knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
ability to supervise and train others

Job Duties

Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts
prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes
ensure proper storage and sanitary handling of all food items
serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies
use kitchen utensils and equipment appropriately for food preparation and serving
maintain clean work areas including cleaning refrigerators, cooking and serving equipment
train other food service workers
uphold facility uniform policy
manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
ensure kitchen readiness through sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
verify proper food portions and utensils for service
promote a healthy and safe work environment
perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, standing for extended periods
perform other related duties as assigned
