Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of food production experience or graduation from a recognized culinary school
  • State of California Food Handler Certification or must obtain within three months of hire
  • Ability to read, write and be understood in English
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from a recognized culinary school or two years of food production experience
  • State of California Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire
  • Ability to read, write and be understood in English
  • Flexibility to work at all UCSF Health locations
  • Experience in training and developing culinary and production staff preferred
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare food for Patient Food Services, Café
  • , coffee shops and conference center events
  • Establish and monitor food quality standards to ensure consistency and highest quality
  • Monitor food temperature and safety standards
  • Solve problems related to culinary services before, during and after meal periods
  • Assist with safety and sanitation maintenance within the department
