Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role advantageous
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment
- Monitor freshness of food and ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock
- Cook and prepare various foods by baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, seasoning, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes
- Prepare fruits, vegetables, meats, and seafood for consumption including washing, peeling, cutting, carving, and trimming
- Compile and maintain records of food usage and assist with inventory
- Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, greeting and thanking customers
