Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or g.e.d
  • one year experience cooking food for large groups or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • valid state driver's license
  • food manager's certificate or ability to obtain within established timeframe
  • ability to meet attendance requirements
  • ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively
  • physical ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, squatting, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds
  • work in varying kitchen temperatures
  • willingness to uphold the religious mission of The Salvation Army

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • cook and serve nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules
  • ensure all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner
  • clean kitchen facilities, equipment and appliances
  • maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner
  • perform physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping, squatting, climbing and bending
  • follow food safety and hygiene protocols
  • assist with meal preparation for large groups
